Before and after #9

"Green" practices

Because of the way we handle the trimming or removal of trees there will not be a stack of tree trunks sitting at the curb waiting days or weeks to be picked up. As we trim or remove your trees the pieces are loaded directly into our wood chipper and our truck. Once a truck is filled it is sent to a green waste processing facility. "What is that?" you might ask. Diversion from the traditional waste stream is very important to us. There is a network of facilities around Atlanta that process wood chips and put them to use in valuable ways. None of the wood resulting from trees that we cut goes to a landfill.

Customers or neighbors sometimes want to use the fresh wood chips as a mulch in their landscaping. We are always happy to oblige granted that they have a suitable location for us to unload. Wood chips perform several very beneficial purposes when used as a direct mulch: they absorb rain, decreasing runoff; they shade soil and decrease temperatures, slowing the evaporative loss of moisture; they suppress the germination of undesirable weed seeds; they act as a compost in-situ, slowly breaking down to increase the organic matter in your soil which in turn creates a better living environment for beneficial organisms, sequesters carbon and leads to future plantings in the area thriving from the resulting humus added to our Georgia red clay.

If you ever need a load (or more) of wood chips, they are delivered completely free of charge when we are working nearby. Call or text 770-364-5723 to ask when we might be able to bring you some.
